Although this street in Jerusalem is now in ruins, when I saw a
picture of it I felt as if I'd been there long ago and felt compelled
to paint it as I imagined it. This painting has affected people in
many ways...reminding some of Italy, others of Spain. Some
associate it with romance, loneliness, or Mediterranean
adventures, while many feel a great spiritual connection.

The land in my log cabin painting is actually part of
"Shadow's Mountain,"our small Fayette County farm in
Southern West Virginia. We named it for "Shadow", a
large Belgian Shepherd who was living there but was
gracious enough to share his home with us.
